CLOROX Disclosing More Ingredients In Cleaning Products

Clorox Family of ProductsClorox is expanding its Ingredients Inside Program – which allows consumers to go online to read the fine print on various cleaning products.

Ingredients Inside was launched in 2009 and this week the company announced that it was expanding the disclosure it provides on product ingredients including preservatives, dyes and fragrances.

In addition, Clorox will now offer a palette of fragrances used in its cleaning products. According to the article in GreenBiz, “Each fragrance will include a link to a file containing its CAS Registry Number and fragrance chemical names.”.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Clorox is far ahead of its competitors in providing this type of disclosure.

“This additional information about our products is a natural next step to take for our Ingredients Inside program as we continue to drive transparency and industry leadership in the area of product ingredient communication,” Clorox Chairman and CEO Don Knauss said in a statement.
