Description:
OSI® GreenSeries™ Multi Purpose is a high performance water-based construction adhesive designed
for interior applications such as drywall installation and fabricating shear wall rated assemblies. This
adhesive is non-flammable, environmentally friendly and VOC compliant for all interior and in-plant
construction use. OSI® GreenSeries™ Multi Purpose offers fast strength development with high shear
strength values.
Recommended Uses:
Bonds a variety of construction materials such as wood or metal studs, drywall, masonry, glass and
ceramics, carpet and carpet grippers, polystyrene foam board, cork, decorative wall trim and molding.
Not Recommended For:
Underwater applications or permanent water immersion
Outdoor applications
Applications requiring temperature resistance greater than 160°F
Use on mirrors and metals that will corrode
Bonding two non-porous surfaces
Polyethylene, polypropylene, Nylon™ or Teflon™
Cement Board (Durock™)
Coverage:
For a 10.2 fl. oz. cartridge:
A ¼” (6 mm) bead extrudes approximately 32 ft (9.5 m).
A 3/8” (9.5 mm) bead extrudes approximately 14 ft. (4.26 m).
Directions:
Tools Typically Required:
Utility knife, caulking gun and tool to puncture inner seal of cartridge.
Safety Precautions:
Wear gloves.
Preparation:
The temperature of the adhesive, the surfaces and the working area must be above 40°F (4°C) and below 100°F (38°C). For best performance,
apply adhesive at 70°F (21°C). Ensure surfaces to be bonded are clean, dry, structurally sound and free of dust, grease, oil, snow, ice, standing
water or other contaminants. To increase adhesion, sand glossy surfaces to a dull finish. Pre-fit all materials prior to applying product. Cut off
tip of cartridge at a 45° angle to desired bead size. Puncture inside seal of cartridge.
Application:
General Construction Use:
Using a caulking gun, apply adhesive to one of the surfaces to be bonded. Press materials firmly together. Repositioning time is approximately
10 minutes. If work is delayed, remove excess adhesive and reapply.
Paneling and Foamboard Installation:
Apply continuous beads of adhesive to studs or furring strips (wood or metal). For wall surfaces, prepare surface accordingly and apply
continuous parallel beads 12” to 16” on-center. Position panel and press firmly into place. Use finishing nails or mechanical fasteners along top
and bottom edges to hold panels in place. Temporary blocking of panels may be required until adhesive sets.
Drywall Installation:
Apply adhesive in same manner as detailed in Paneling and Foamboard installation instructions above. Mechanical fasteners are required 16” on-center around the perimeter of the panels. Field fasteners may be required if gypsum board shows evidence of warping. Note: Field
fasteners are required 24” on-center for all ceiling applications in addition to perimeter fasteners.
Clean-up:
Clean tools and uncured adhesive residue immediately with warm water and soap. Cured adhesive may be carefully cut away with a sharpedged
tool.
